Leave, transfer or close
What happens when you leave an organisation, hand over ownership or close it for good.
Leave an organisation
Admins and Members can leave an organisation from the Organisations page with Leave organisation. After you confirm, you lose access immediately. Your uploads and analyses stay with the organisation, and the remaining members are notified.
The Owner can't leave. Transfer ownership first, or close the organisation.
Transfer ownership
Owner only.
Choose Transfer ownership on the Organisations page or the members page, pick another member, then type the organisation's name and your password to confirm. The new Owner takes over and you become an Admin.
Close an organisation
Owner only.
Closing an organisation is how you delete it. Choose Close organisation and confirm with the organisation's name and your password.
- Every member, including you, loses access at once.
- Pending invitations are cancelled.
- Members are emailed the date the data will be deleted.
29 days to change your mind
For 29 days, the Owner can bring the organisation back with Restore on the Organisations page. After that, all of its data, including transcripts, analyses and customers, is permanently deleted.
